Irish Nepalese Educational Trust

Just to confirm that INET has received the Eu650 that we raised at this year's race. All the money will towards community and education projects for children in Phuleini and neighbouring villages in the remote Solu Khumbu areas of Nepal.
The trust is managed by which are managed by Dhan Khaling Rai, a delightful man I met on my own trip to Nepal in 1998 when he was our guide. To get an education (through the Hillery Trust), Dhan had to walk to school, which was a day away, every week and then walk home again. He was employed by the 1993 Irish Everest Expedition when Dawson Stelfox became the first Irishman to stand on top of the world's highest mountain and has joined virtually every Irish expedition to Nepal since then.
Already a small school, designed by Dawson, has been built in the Solu Khumbu area.
